Happy birthday to us! We have recently turned eight years old so we would like to bring this fabulous news to your attention…
Why are we celebrating turning eight you ask?
Well, the number 8 is hugely significant; it’s the atomic number for oxygen (pretty essential), eight maids are a-milking (mainly during the festive period), it’s lucky for the Chinese and also a Fibonacci number (always fun) but, most importantly to us, a byte consists of eight bits. And since digital is what we do, we thought it only fitting to age digitally.
You might remember our post from back in July last year which was the start of our brand refresh. Excitingly, we’ve nearly fully refreshed and our visual identity is one of the last bits to be completed – the cherry on top of the cake.
Hopefully by now you’ve noticed our new logo sitting proudly at the top of the screen, admire it in all its glory!
Copper Director and Founder, Jason Suttie explains; ‘Our previous logo had been with us from the start in 2006 and we felt that it represented who we used to be but not who we are in 2014 and going forward. The logo you’ll now see on our site and gradually everywhere else is a much better reflection of who we are and where we’re going. The clean customised typeface is a lot less fussy than the old one with a distinct diagonal slice through the middle. You could see it as the angled wire wraps of the copper coil, a symbol of conductivity and energy. It could be seen as an illustration of our aim with our work that is to continually improve and push upward.’
Fear not, we are still the same Copper at heart, just a little bit more streamlined and snazzy.
If you are curious – have a peek around our website or maybe even have a go at our birthday quiz (there’s a nice prize too for the winner…)
Just follow this lovely link to register, we promise it will take less time than blowing up a birthday balloon.
Now where’s the cake?
